Look what just came in! Not sure what it is? Well let me tell you, it is a thread holder for the small and big cones of thread. On one side you can place the thread and the other side place your loaded bobbins. I have one in my sewing room. No 2 are exactly the same. They are hand made, not mass produced. Besides they are a piece of ART! And usable.

would like to use. This block is know as 54- 40 or Fight. We
are putting together a Traditional quilt with some of the
original 30's patterns that got us all started quilting again.

Some of you know that I had surgery in Dec and had to wear this funky Swiss Cheeses for a few weeks. Well what do you do with it when you are finished?? I made Lisa's slippers.

I got 2 pair of soles.

Construction of the slippers.

These are for the Nurses at my Dr's office. They will receive them on April Fool's Day. This is called going GREEN!

On March 13, we all showed up at 10. We weren't sure quite what to expect. But WOW what a day we all had.

Fabric came from no where. It just kept coming. Boxes of thread was dropped off. Sewers took a different color and away we got sewing. Gals were yelling I have pink thread, I have blue. We had runners diving out the right colors to each sewer.

Some stood and cut 1 yard pieces of fabric all the day long.

One down!

We sewed and sewed and sewed and by the end of the day we had made 500 pillow cases!!! Wow!!!!

A great day was had by all. Thank you everyone for all that you did to make this day possible!!!

Thanks go to Kelli for our wonderful pictures. But we didn't get one of her. I think she planned it that way.

Look what we did on 2 Friday nights. This was sew much fun. I changed the pattern only by not using the iron on grid method. We cut a lot of squares and strips and WOW!! Our witches and Santa's went together just beautifully. I was afraid of the pattern at first and was not sure I wanted to teach it but before you knew it I was having a ball. So if you haven't heard Pebble is hosting a SEWCATION over Labor Day Weekend. I hope you all can attend (but you will have to sign up - give the shop a call) I on the other hand will be up in Arrowhead at Janet's retreat. Yes, Lisa and I will be enjoying ourselves, no phones to answer, husbands to cook for and no dirty dishes or laundry. Just fun people (I hope), sewing machines, food, wine, spa and who knows what else (yes if you are asking me I will be sleeping with my boss this weekend - you didn't think I got this great job on my looks alone did you?) Anyways for all of you who will be missing the retreat in Arrowhead I hope that you can maybe have a little SEWCATION of your own.

Candy and I went by the shop and here are some new pictures. They are of the new tile bath room. The office and the beautiful new carpet. We are almost ready to start moving in. What do you think of those great new Signs. WOW!!!! Now everyone can see where we are.

Even though the shop isn't fully complete inside, we're going to open soon. We're exhausted, we're overwhelmed, and well... So EXCITED!!!

We had our last "vacation" this past weekend at Janet's retreat in Lake Arrowhead. It was a fantastic time for all and our fellow quilters couldn't stop asking "When? When are you going to open? When can we sign up for classes?"

Well here's the "Orange Quilt Buzz".....

We will open our doors on May 2nd at 10am.
You can sign up for classes on opening day and the first class is scheduled for Tuesday May 5th.
We have lots of new fabrics, notions, books, patterns and quilt & handbag models.

Here are some pictures Janet took yesterday. These are the future employees, also the husbands and friends working on the cabinets for the shop. The last two are of Candy's living room. Fabric is being stored every where!

Delayed Grand Opening

Due to circumstances out of our control, Orange Quilt Bee's Grand Opening has been pushed to the beginning of April. We are diligently working on the class schedule and hope to have events in our calendar within the next week or two.
